Gar-Non-De-Yo was a small village located on the Western shore of Cayuga Lake about mid way between what is now the Cayuga Lake State Park Campgrounds and Canoga on Route 89. At the time of the Sullivan-Clinton Campaign Gar-Non-De-Yo contained ten houses and was surrounded by fields of corn.
Gar-Non-De-Yo was destroyed on September 21st, 1779 by Colonel Dearborn and his men. Colonel Dearborn described Gar-Non-De-Yo as:
"...a very pretty town of 10 houses and a conciderable quantity of corn which we burnt"

The area that was Gar-Non-De-Yo is now lakefront houses and boat launches on Route 89. There are two historical markers to mark the location of Gar-Non-De-Yo which are located a quarter mile South of the intersection of Route 89 and Lower Lake Road. The GPS Coordinates to the markers are Latitude 42°52'36.84"N by Longitude 76°44'42.90"W.
